Beneficial owners and PSCs are the same things – right? Not exactly! Beneficial Owners and PSCs (Persons of Significant Control) are very similar, but there are differences. In fact, both beneficial owner and PSC requirements are widely misunderstood or not followed. This session aims to carefully explain for UK accountants and bookkeepers these terms and the surrounding requirements, both for the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 and for Companies House.

In this session David Winch will cover the following topics:

• Who is a beneficial owner for a UK company?
• Who is a PSC for a UK company?
• Where do they overlap and where do they differ?
• What do we have to do about them to comply with MLR 2017?
• What do we have to do about them for Companies House?

Employment Rights Act 2025 - What It Means For You

On 18 December 2025 the Employment Rights Act 2025 finally received Royal Assent. This is a major piece of legislation, which many have called the biggest change to employment law in a generation. The Act will come into force in stages. Some of it came into force soon after Royal Assent, and there was a further tranche of changes in April 2026. We have more changes due in October 2026, and then in 2027. In this session we will work through all the contents of the Act and, importantly, explain what you need to do to be compliant.
