Advisory & Cyber Security: Why Human Science holds the Key to Accountancy Evolution
Speaker: Richard Jackson - Moore ClearComm & Mike Clarke - Empowered People Thrive
Accountancy firms are on a journey of vast evolution, under huge pressure to adapt their skills, services, and support in an ever-changing world. Two very different areas of focus are at the forefront of this seismic shift: Advisory, and Cyber Security.
While very different in respect of their subject matter and objectives, they are in fact incredibly similar both in respect of their impact on accountants - and how to deliver them effectively and efficiently. In both instances:
• They are “Human” subjects, with their success reliant on core skills born out of understanding human science
• You are being asked to deliver and implement change, at pace and to scale
• You may not yet fully understand “What” needs to be delivered – while under incredible pressure to make sure it happens
• They represent significant shifts in your business culture
• They require major “change management” strategies that require education, awareness, and behavioural evolution
In this session Richard Jackson and Mike Clarke will cover the following:
• Advisory & Cyber Security: The Same Difference
• The Human Factor: The Power of Your People
• Change: How to Manage and Deliver Significant Change within your Practice
• What is Human Science & How Does it Impact on Accountancy?
• The Importance of Trust in Advisory & Cyber Security (As a Tool for Good & Bad)

The new standards will be effective for audits of financial statements for periods commencing on or after 15 December 2021.

In this session, Elaine Jackson will focus on 2 or 3 industries and provide practical guidance on;
• The structure of discussions to be had with Management
• Challenging management’s assessment
• The information and audit evidence to be obtained
• The testing to be performed
• The conclusions to be drawn
