This session will provide an overview of the key tax reliefs and investment incentives that come into play through the life of an owner managed business, from start up to exit, and handing on wealth to the next generation of the founder's family.

Who the session is for - This session will provide an overview of the tax reliefs available to growing businesses throughout their lifecycle.  We'll be covering a wide range of topics and the aim of this session is to show you where each of these tax reliefs come into play along a timeline, and how different tax reliefs interact.  This session will be of particular benefit to advisers working with family owned corporate clients.  FICs can form an important part of family wealth planning and can be a very useful tool in looking at inter-generational planning, giving younger generations access to income and capital growth, while leaving the control over the family jewels in the hands of those with a few more grey hairs.  Looking forward to where a FIC might fit into a longer term plan can help shape tax planning during the growth phase of an owner managed business, particularly those where the business and property investments form part of a plan for the family's wealth.

In this session Simon Briton will be covering the following topics;

- EIS / SEIS tax relief

- R&D tax relief

- Patent box tax relief

- Share options

- Pension planning for property investment

- Tax efficient profit extraction

- Planning for sale

- Family Investment Companies
