Whilst we have all heard of money laundering regulations and many of us know what is expected, many of us don’t know why we have to conduct these checks and why our line of business is so important in that area. Companies play an integral role within money laundering networks both nationally and globally. If we understand the role they play, then we can understand why we are conducting the regulatory checks and understand the importance of adhering to due diligence and regulation. In this session we hope that everyone will understand the global networks to which companies play an important role.

Robert McAllen covers the following topics during this session:

· Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and how they came into existence

· How FATF assisted countries with their Money Laundering Regulations (MLR).

· Trade Based Money Laundering (TMBL)

· How to detect TBML

· The role TBML plays in global money laundering

· Informal Value Transfer System (IVTS)

· IVTS networks (Global Controller Networks)

· How TBML can assist IVTS networks with liquidity.
