Elaine Jackson

Elaine has over 15 years Accountancy Practice experience which has provided her with a wealth of knowledge across all industries and sectors. Elaine is an AITI Chartered Tax Advisor, a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Diploma in Corporate Finance. In her previous roles, Elaine was a member of our Practice Support team, Elaine’s focus is on providing firm’s with assistance and training in the following areas; Anti-Money Laundering, Audit Testing and Walk Through Procedures, Audit Planning and Efficiency, OmniPro Audit Working Paper Demos, Preparing for Monitoring Visits and Post Monitoring Visit follow-ups. Elaine has experienced a number of ACA and ACCA monitoring reviews. This experience has provided Elaine with a great understanding and appreciation for the challenges facing Accountants in practice today.

Lindsay Webber

As a head of Strategic Solutions at OmniPro, Lindsay’s focus is on helping practices achieve on-going best practice compliance, providing in-house training and technical assistance in audit and financial reporting.

Lindsay is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and Chartered Accountants Ireland. She trained with KPMG in Johannesburg and specialised in external audit of financial services companies. She then spent six years lecturing audit and financial reporting to under-grad and post-grad students at Rhodes University in South Africa before moving to Ireland and returning to practice in a small, and then a medium sized firm where she was an audit manager. She is passionate about combining her academic and practice backgrounds to provide technical information in a useful and practical way.

Outside of her accounting qualifications Lindsay holds a PGDiploma in Higher Education from Rhodes University, an MBA from Trinity College Dublin and a Diploma in Forensic Accounting from Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Grant Thornton

Claire Thomson - Director

Claire is a qualified Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and trained with Grant Thornton Ireland. She spent 5.5 years in corporate audit, before moving to the firm’s risk & compliance team, where she spent 6 years supporting the all-Ireland practice as their UK financial reporting subject matter expert.
After a year in OmniPro’s Practice Support team, where she delivered webinars, developed technical content and provided post-monitoring support to firms, she is now with Grant Thornton, based in Northern Ireland, where she is Head of UK Financial Reporting and Accounting Technical, providing UK advice and support to local and international offices

Partner, FRP Advisory

Martyn Pullin

Martyn joined FRP in 2017, and is a Partner in the Restructuring Advisory team in Teesside. As a Chartered Certified Accountant, Licensed Insolvency Practitioner and member of the Turnaround Managers Association, he has significant experience advising businesses and not-for-profit organisations, usually during times of financial distress.

Well-connected throughout the North East region, Martyn has extensive experience working with clients ranging from owner-managed businesses to large multi-site operations, rescuing as many as possible. He is increasingly engaged in advisory assignments working with existing management teams to maximise stakeholder outcomes, and has particular experience dealing with retail, construction, charities, licensed trade and manufacturing businesses.

Company Law Solicitor

David Impey

David Impey is a company law solicitor, professional services marketer, writer, and lecturer. His specialities include company law, professional services marketing, strategic planning and implementation, and interactive e-marketing.

As well as specialising in company law, David also works with law firms and other law businesses, helping them with strategy, and marketing, and majoring particularly on overcoming barriers to implementation of strategic and marketing plans and tactics

From 2008 to 2014, he led and worked on a major project for the UK Intellectual Property Office, through Atom Content Marketing (formerly BHP), building and developing an online IP HealthCheck resource that helps small and medium-sized businesses to identify, protect and commercially exploit their intellectual property.

He also worked in-house for 14 fun and profitable years for leading services provider Jordans, becoming Marketing Director responsible for developing, managing and marketing its service and product range. Particularly, he led significant projects to commoditise UK and overseas ‘factory’ professional services and promote them into the UK and other legal markets.

David lectures in the UK and overseas on both UK company law and professional services firm strategy and marketing.

ECR Professional Ltd

Edward Rands

Edward Rands was for eleven years the Risk and Professional Standards partner at a large independent firm of chartered accountants.

He led the firm’s technical team, which was responsible for maintaining and updating accounting and auditing knowledge, and for dealing with complex problems and queries as they arose.

He was also the founder chairman of the UK technical committee of his firm’s international network, and a contributing author of the network’s commercially published IFRS manual.

He now works as an independent consultant, advising firms on technical and regulatory matters.
