A session that will provide accountants with an update on hot topics in restructuring and insolvency including HMRC enforcement action, TTP arrangements, insolvency stats, a warning about unlicensed insolvency practitioners and case studies to walk attendees through key insolvency and business rescue strategies. The session has been designed to pick up the key issues that are arising in the restructuring and insolvency word which will impact client decision-making and client advice. The unlicensed insolvency practitioner hot topic is aa timely reminder of the rogue operators targeting your clients directly through social media which are leading to large scale fraud. The session will assist with distressed client advice, aid client retention and help mitigate the risks to both advisor and client directors.

Martyn Pullin

Martyn joined FRP in 2017, and is a Partner in the Restructuring Advisory team in Teesside. As a Chartered Certified Accountant, Licensed Insolvency Practitioner and member of the Turnaround Managers Association, he has significant experience advising businesses and not-for-profit organisations, usually during times of financial distress.

Well-connected throughout the North East region, Martyn has extensive experience working with clients ranging from owner-managed businesses to large multi-site operations, rescuing as many as possible. He is increasingly engaged in advisory assignments working with existing management teams to maximise stakeholder outcomes, and has particular experience dealing with retail, construction, charities, licensed trade and manufacturing businesses.
