The accountancy sector is changing.  Dramatically.  A more and more of the traditional accountancy services become commoditized, thanks to emerging technology, previously reliable revenue streams are no longer reliable.  At the same time, we see demand growing from business owners for 'more' from their accountants, more support and speedier strategic guidance.

We also see some of the largest accountancy bodies in the world (CPA) strongly encouraging their members to deliver Client Advisory Services (CAS), but this has its own challenges.  In this session, we are going to explore those challenges, and suggest ways to overcome them.

Brenda Jordan will cover the following topics during this webinar:

  • Share stats around the growing demand / growing opportunity
  • Share and discuss the CPA's guidance to delivering the service
  • Discuss the challenges facing accountants in the delivery of CAS
  • demonstrate how these challenges are being handled:   Technology / offshoring
  • discuss technology / AI in the support of accountants delivering CAS

By attending this session you will be able to bring improved advisory services into your business, and/or introduce a very lucrative new revenue stream,.  Imagine going into that meeting with your board or client and being able to answer complicated financial questions at the touch of a button.

This session will be of most interest to Accountants in practice, but there is also lot of value for CFOs in industry.

Course Level: Intermediate (In this session, it would be helpful if attendees are comfortable in using performance metrics and analytics in the delivery of their reports to board and clients)

CGMA, AICPA – SOBI Analytics

Brenda Jordan

Brenda Jordan CGMA, AICPA – SOBI Analytics Brenda Jordan has always believed in changing the odds of success for businesses. From her early days as an accountant, she saw the same challenge time and time again—business owners struggling to make sense of financial data, relying on outdated reports, and missing key opportunities that could have saved or scaled their businesses. For over 20 years, Brenda ran her own accountancy firm with a difference. While most firms focused on compliance—payroll, bookkeeping, and year-end reporting—she went further, helping businesses unlock key performance insights that drove real profitability. Her results spoke for themselves: when the 2008 recession hit, 98% of her clients survived and many thrived—because they had the right financial intelligence to adapt in real time. But there was a problem. Scaling this kind of advisory service wasn’t easy. Financial professionals were stuck in transactional work, drowning in spreadsheets, with little time to deliver true strategic insights. Business owners, on the other hand, were left making decisions in the dark, unable to see what was coming next. Brenda knew that technology—especially ML, AI and automation—could change everything. So, she took the frameworks, insights, and predictive strategies she had spent years developing and built them into a scalable, AI-driven financial intelligence platform. SOBI Analytics was born. Today, SOBI empowers accountants to become strategic business advisors and gives business owners the real-time financial clarity they need to make smarter decisions. No more static reports. No more missed opportunities. Just proactive, AI-driven insights that help businesses not just survive, but thrive. With a background in bootstrapping, resilience, and global ambition, Brenda is scaling SOBI across Ireland, the UK, the US, and Australia, helping accountants transform their firms and businesses stay ahead of the curve. And with Generative AI now accelerating SOBI’s capabilities, the company is poised to revolutionize the way financial intelligence is delivered.
