Course Details

In July of this year HMRC published a new manual of Anti-money laundering guidance for supervised businesses. It runs to over 100,000 words, if you print it all there are over 500 pages and it contains the word ‘must’ over 1,000 times. But what in this guidance should accountants, bookkeepers, tax advisers and TCSPs focus on – and why does any of this matter for firms supervised for AML by one of the professional bodies?

In this session David Winch will cover the following topics:

  • An overview of the new guidance
  • New law or new expectations for compliance?
  • The guidance for all HMRC supervised businesses
  • Guidance specifically for ASPs and TCSPs
  • Practical implications

By attending this session, attendees will get a grip on the new guidance without having to study the manual and will obtain an understanding of how this affects their own firm.

The session will be of most interest to accountants, bookkeepers, tax advisers, auditors and TCSPs particularly those acting for UK owner-managed companies.
