Course Details

On 18 December 2025 the Employment Rights Act 2025 finally received Royal Assent. This is a major piece of legislation, which many have called the biggest change to employment law in a generation. The Act will come into force in stages. Some of it came into force soon after Royal Assent, and there was a further tranche of changes in April 2026. We have more changes due in October 2026, and then in 2027. In this session we will work through all the contents of the Act and, importantly, explain what you need to do to be compliant.

In this course Professor Kathy Daniels covers the following topics:

  • The background to the Employment Rights Act 2025
  • What has already changed (at Royal Assent, in February 2026 and in April 2026)
  • What is changing in October 2026
  • What is changing in 2027
  • What do you need to do to ensure compliance with the new legislation
