Course Details

The ECCTA has been in force since October 2023, bringing a series of changes to the Companies Act 2006 and to the roles, responsibilities and operations of Companies House.

The focus of this course is on the upcoming ID verification requirements for directors and people with significant control, which will become mandatory later this year, and the associated introduction of Authorised Corporate Service Providers. We look at how accountants can prepare for the new requirements, both for their own practices and in order to assist their clients.

The course also includes a reminder of the other key changes being implemented, along with the expected timelines, and a review of the changes to size thresholds effective from April 2025.

In this session Claire Thomson covers the following topics:

  • ID verification requirements – who is impacted, and how to prepare
  • Authorised corporate service provider status, and what this means for accountants
  • The timeline of implementation
  • Other changes the ECCTA is bringing
  • Changes to UK company size thresholds
