2025 has been a big year for UK company law. With the Economic Crime & Corporate Transparency Act 2023 bringing in some significant changes, such as mandatory ID verification, changes in company size thresholds, failure to prevent fraud offences and potential changes to company filing requirements.

This session will bring together all the changes in one place, combining the theory with the practical implications and how the revisions will impact companies on a day-to-day basis.

In this session Claire Thomson will cover the following topics:

  • Company size thresholds – how to apply the transition arrangements, and the potential opportunities and pitfalls arising from the new criteria
  • How the new size thresholds impact the adoption of the periodic review of FRS 100-105
  • ID Verification – becoming mandatory on 18 November, what this means practically, and how to comply with the new requirements
  • Failure to prevent fraud – what are the obligations and impacts on companies
  • The latest on company filing – the move towards digital filing and enhanced transparency
  • Other non-financial reporting changes, including the latest proposals from the FRC and BEIS on narrative reporting.

The session is an essential for all accountants working with UK companies and LLPs of all sizes and will provide a mix of both technical knowledge and practical application.
