Course Details

Offering the best remuneration package for an employee often includes certain benefits and expenses. This is because an employer can pay or provide whatever they wish to an employee, the key is to tax the remuneration correctly.

During this series, we will discuss what benefits can be provided to employees; tax and NI free, what to look out for when reviewing optional remuneration arrangement, and if a P11d is required, how to complete it.

Some employers may already be volunteering to payrolling benefits, during the session we discuss the mandatory payrolling of benefits requirements.

In this session Jo Marshall will cover the following topics:

  • Deadlines that apply to expenses and benefits
  • Qualifying business expenses
  • Statutory exemptions
  • Optional remuneration arrangements (salary sacrifice)
  • Expenses and benefits that are reported on the P11D

By attending this session, you will have a clear understanding of providing benefits to employees, understanding what a qualifying business expense is, and what to consider when managing this process. The ability to consider if other benefits are being provided to employees, that have previously been overlooked.

This session will be of most interest to payroll teams, finance teams, HR and even recruitment, anyone who is involved in offering, and/or managing, and/or processing UK benefits and expenses.
