Numbers of HMRC investigations are increasing and their activities are becoming ever more focused. This session will look at a number of live cases currently being handled by HMRC Tax Solutions Ltd across a variety of taxes and different types of disputes. Attendees will gain an invaluable insight into current HMRC activity and the steps that can be taken to ensure that a client’s case is represented as robustly and effectively as possible.

  • HMRC’s investigative directorates, and what each of them focuses on.
  • Different types of enquiries, investigations and disputes.
  • Applying for an enquiry to be closed.
  • Making late appeals.
  • When to consider appealing to the Tax Tribunal.
