As a head of Strategic Solutions at OmniPro, Lindsay’s focus is on helping practices achieve on-going best practice compliance, providing in-house training and technical assistance in audit and financial reporting.

Lindsay is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and Chartered Accountants Ireland. She trained with KPMG in Johannesburg and specialised in external audit of financial services companies. She then spent six years lecturing audit and financial reporting to under-grad and post-grad students at Rhodes University in South Africa before moving to Ireland and returning to practice in a small, and then a medium sized firm where she was an audit manager. She is passionate about combining her academic and practice backgrounds to provide technical information in a useful and practical way.

Outside of her accounting qualifications Lindsay holds a PGDiploma in Higher Education from Rhodes University, an MBA from Trinity College Dublin and a Diploma in Forensic Accounting from Chartered Accountants Ireland.

After initially working in a range of bookkeeping and accounting roles, Lucy took up a role in a team administering the £17 billion pension fund of one of the Top 3 UK banks. Later moving on to a project working with an international partner to scope a new pensions administration system. This work drew on expertise in:

• Process mapping
• Systems design
• Test design and implementation
• Interpretation of scheme rules and legislation

After a career break, Lucy went into practice as a bookkeeper, growing and developing a successful bookkeeping practice that she then sold. Whilst in practice as a bookkeeper, Lucy developed and implemented policy and processes to ensure that the business was compliant with all legislative requirements, including Anti Money Laundering legislation.

Having successfully sold the business, Lucy worked for one of the supervisory bodies supporting members to meet their legislative obligations and satisfy professional standards. In this role Lucy provided training, worked to raise awareness, and provided advice to a wide variety of members – alongside overseeing the mandatory penalty regime and developing an independent appeals process.

David Impey is a company law solicitor, professional services marketer, writer, and lecturer. His specialities include company law, professional services marketing, strategic planning and implementation, and interactive e-marketing.

As well as specialising in company law, David also works with law firms and other law businesses, helping them with strategy, and marketing, and majoring particularly on overcoming barriers to implementation of strategic and marketing plans and tactics

From 2008 to 2014, he led and worked on a major project for the UK Intellectual Property Office, through Atom Content Marketing (formerly BHP), building and developing an online IP HealthCheck resource that helps small and medium-sized businesses to identify, protect and commercially exploit their intellectual property.

He also worked in-house for 14 fun and profitable years for leading services provider Jordans, becoming Marketing Director responsible for developing, managing and marketing its service and product range. Particularly, he led significant projects to commoditise UK and overseas ‘factory’ professional services and promote them into the UK and other legal markets.

David lectures in the UK and overseas on both UK company law and professional services firm strategy and marketing.

Kirsty McGregor is founder and Chairman of The Corporate Finance Network, a group of independent regional accountancy firms. As an experienced SME Corporate Financier, she now shares her knowledge and practical resources with accountants who aim to assist owner-managed businesses to grow profitable businesses and ultimately to exit.

As Accountant-in-Residence at Capitalise.com she relishes sharing with firms how they can support clients to access sufficient working capital for growth and resilience.

She is also a speaker, professional trainer and is regularly called upon to provide commentary on SME issues to the press and media and was awarded the Accounting International Bulletin’s “Personality of the Year” in 2021.

Jose Hopkins ACA is a Chartered Accountant with 16 years of international experience across external audit, IFRS financial reporting, climate risk, sustainability reporting and assurance. He began his career with KPMG Chile, working on Minera Escondida, the world’s largest copper mine, before spending eight years with KPMG London managing complex global group audits and progressing to Senior Manager. He later joined a specialist KPMG team developing TCFD and climate-risk audit methodology and reviewing FCA TCFD-aligned reporting across listed companies.

Jose subsequently became Sustainability & ESG Technical Director at MHA/Baker Tilly, where he helped integrate sustainability and climate capability, methodology and processes across audit, assurance and advisory.

Today at Acclaro Advisory, he leads the sustainability assurance service line and supports organisations in building, reviewing and assuring the data, controls and reporting behind GHG inventories, CDP reporting, climate risk management and wider sustainability disclosures.

His experience spans mining and metals, chemicals and agribusiness, financial services, public sector, transport and mobility, facilities management, technology and data centres, and professional services. He works across frameworks and standards including TCFD, UK SRS, ISSB, GHG Protocol, ISO 14001/50001, ISAE 3410/3000, ISSA 5000, GRI, IFRS and FRS 102, with systems experience including SAP/1SAP, Hyperion, Position Green, Watershed and Carbon Alt Delete.

Jose is also an experienced CPD trainer, former postgraduate lecturer at the University of West London, and has spoken at ExCeL London and the House of Lords.
